Hello Dave, I just finished reading Lilly and I loved it! It took me a long time, as my tablet is kaput and I had to read on my computer, which is on a desk in my bedroom… While reading, I was thinking “what a great plot for a movie!” I like your humour and your sense of drama. Yes, I cried, especially at (SPOILER), couldn’t help it! Also, I was wondering, did Michelle finished writing “Moular”? If so, is it available? Well, sincere congratulations for your amazing writing skills. Say hello to Michelle, and give her a big kiss for me!

Hey man, I finished your book! What a very cool concept for a novel and a WILD ride! 😃 Nicely done! For the first few chapters I was like, Wait, where is this going?? Is this a mental health book?? Is this a multiverse book?? Is this a philosophical treatise on midlife and the inability to choose more than one life??😃

Recently a very creative and talented local musician, and I like to think a friend, a lot of us know, decided to write a book, f him and his talent. Dave Pomfret, no offense but piss off! It’s just not fair someone can be excellent in two mediums! Lol I’ve been a supporter of his music for a long time, starting with the Munday Nuns, two great awesome solo CD’s, a member of the renowned and popular, Fry Truck and many other endeavors. I recently read his inaugural tome called Lilly and finished it last week. What a dick! Lol This was riveting work. Very well written, edge of your seat type stuff. A guy has a mental break/ethereal experience of sorts and has a holy shite dark adventure. It’s set in Oakville, Hamilton etc but you’ll recognize This Ain’t Hollywood, Miller Shoes, the downtown train station, Oakville locations etc. as background. Highly recommended, I told him the stunning Anja Taylor Joy
needs to star as Lilly in the movie. Go buy this, it’s a great read, I wanted a more hopeful ending personally but that’s a really minor quibble because this ending worked very well, it’s a great book, well worth the time. I savored the journey. Out on Amazon and some local bookstores, it was a gift so I’m not sure exactly where to go for purchase!

This first-time author has written a thrilling story that’s full of fun twists, heart-wrenching sadness and laugh-out-loud moments. Both of his narrators are wonderful. Allan Isaac is a tragic figure with a great big heart, who gets himself into the most cringe-worthy predicaments imaginable. And Lilly… well I won’t spoil her for you. Read this book!

Page turner, loved the ending. So great to have local Hamilton writers.

As someone who works most days of the week, I looked forward to my downtime to read it whenever I could! Filled with nerve racking situations, it’s a read that definitely gets you thinking. Every chapter tells its own story of the main character, and even
very interesting side characters as well. Many tense, nail biting situations to laugh out loud ones. I would recommend this book to anyone. Definitely a book you’ll find hard to put down.

It’s a good read, with a lot of local references to people and places in the Hammer. A good musician turned novelist, he personally said he would NEVER do this again, and will stick to songwriting, but – I think he might give this another try.

Lilly by Dave Pomfret is a great tale told well by a gifted songwriter who has turned his hand to prose. If you know Hamilton you’ll be familiar with many of the locales where it takes place, but the story will appeal to all regardless. I read it over a couple nights and was compelled to keep going well past my normal lights out. I’m betting you will love it too!

A thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish. Perfect blend of humour, drama, and fantasy. I bought three copies as Christmas gifts after reading mine!!
